Support Worker/Carer Kingswood Bristol (Mulberry House)

Working pattern:
Variety of shift length and pattern to include:
Some 7- 2:30, 2- 9:30 waking nights, some weekends and bank holidays.

Milestones Trust has been providing care and support for people with Learning Disabilities, mental health and Dementia for over 30 years.

Mulberry House is a beautifully detached bungalow located in a quiet cul-de-sac in Kingswood; the home is spacious and provides accommodation for five people who has moderate to severe Learning difficulties and who sometimes find life very stressful. The home has a beautiful garden with a range of shrubs seating areas and patio.
The home is well connected by public transports is within walking distances to Kingswood shopping centre and other community facilities.

We are seeking to recruit someone who is enthusiastic, enjoy being with people and have a sense of fun.
You must be able to support people with their personal hygiene needs and have some understanding of non-verbal communication.
It’s important for the people living at Mulberry house to have support to access to their community to pursue their hobbies and to engage in activities of interest to them.
Previous experience would be an advantageous but not essential as full training and support will be given.

Essential skills/ attributes
• You must have the energy and enthusiasm to work in a busy and lively environment.
• It’s essential that you are flexible and be able to work a variety in the length of shifts including some waking nights, some week-ends and bank holidays
• It’s essential that you are able to support people with their interest e.g. Going swimming, disco, going to church, pub and other community base activities.
• It’s essential that you are a driver
