Chair of Trustees


Milestones Trust is a Bristol based charity providing residential, nursing and supported living services to people with learning difficulties, mental health needs and older people, some of whom are living with dementia. This is an exciting time to join us, as we formulate our next three year strategy. We have a strong values-based ethos, which drives the approach we take.

As the Chair of Trustees you will be integral to shaping the organisations direction, as it meets future challenges. With the Board you will be the ‘first among equals’, facilitating and leading discussions to arrive at a common view where possible; supporting the Sub-Committee Chairs and, advised by the Company Secretary, ensuring legal compliance and best practice on governance issues, including Trustee recruitment and development.

Through your previous senior management experience you will be used to working closely with the CEO and Directors, on a range of issues, and to representing organisations externally. In this role you will have some opportunities which may be new to you, through playing an active part in the life of the Trust, and in particular engaging with the people who use our services. We are particularly interested in hearing from you if you live, or work, in or near Bristol, so that you have an active presence across the organisation.
