Assistant Team Leader - Bristol (GG)

Greengates - Bristol
21,271 per annum (pro rata for part time) + excellent benefits

Full Time Hours: 37.5 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Team Leader to join Milestones Trust. We are a not-for-profit charitable organisation with a 32 year history of offering person-centred support to vulnerable people with learning disabilities, mental health needs and dementia.

Based at Greengates you will be responsible for encouraging and supporting service users to define and develop their chosen lifestyles through personal centred care in our residential services.

Greengates is a 15 bedded home for residents with enduring mental health needs. We support individuals to be as independent as they are able to be, living their life in the way they choose, using a person centered approach.
We are looking for someone to join our team who is flexible, has excellent communication skills and a positive approach to supporting people, someone who will work well as part of the small established team; as well as some lone working, to continue to develop the service. Staff should be committed to providing meaningful community involvement and share the values and principles of positive behavioural support.

THE ROLE: As an Assistant Team Leader, your responsibilities will include:

  • Support people to maximise their independence and choice through daily living activities and lifestyle.
  • Organising the shift in the absence of the manager.
  • To be able to lone work support people to meet their goals/ aspirations in the community setting

YOU: The successful Assistant Team Leader will:

  • Be educated to GCSE Level A-C or equivalent in Maths and English or ability to pass numeracy and literacy.
  • Be able to support people to meet their goals/aspirations in the community setting
  • Be enthusiastic and committed to recovery values in order to achieve positive outcomes for people
  • Be enthusiastic and committed to recovery values in order to achieve positive outcomes for people
  • Experience of supporting people in a community setting with on-going mental health difficulties.
  • Experience of using person centre strategies.
  • Team working skills.
